Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been open?
Larry 'Lo-Lo' White opened the original Phoenix location in the summer of 2002. Larry got his start in the restaurant business at Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe, a famous downtown Phoenix soul food restaurant owned by his grandmother. Larry started running plates at Mrs. White's as soon as he was old enough to carry them and began serving chicken and waffles at Mrs. White's in 1997. In 2009 we opened our second location in Scottsdale. In 2012 we moved our Phoenix location from Yuma Street to a brand new building on the corner of Yuma and Central Ave.
Why isn't the Phoenix location open late on Saturday nights?
Because downtown Phoenix is slow on Saturdays. We're open late on Friday nights because of a demand that simply isn't there on Saturdays.
Do you have outdoor seating?
Both our Scottsdale location and our Phoenix location offer outdoor seating in the fall, winter, and spring.
Are you planning on expanding to more locations?
Lo-Lo's is a family owned business and any decision to open more locations will be based upon our ability to offer the same high quality food and excellent service in a family setting. We will be opening at Sky Harbor Airport in Terminal 4 (pre-security) in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Are you planning on franchising?
See the previous question.
Do you serve alcohol at either Lo-Lo's location?
We currently serve wine, beer, and liquor at both locations.
Do you charge gratuity for large parties?
We charge 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more people.
Can I purchase merchandise online?
Soon! Currently you may buy Lo-Lo's t-shirts, coffee mugs, and Lo-Lo's special coffee blend at both of our locations.
